Searcy City Council Approves CDI Contractors and Hart Construction as Construction Management Team for South Main Street Projects

Searcy, AR — On Tuesday the Searcy City Council authorized Mayor Mat Faulkner to enter contract negotiations with CDI Contractors to lead construction management for the community projects on South Main Street, including the Community Center, Outdoor Water Park, and Ball Fields. CDI Contractors will partner with local firm Hart Construction and work alongside Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects as the projects move into the construction phase.

The selection process, which involved submissions from seven qualified companies, required firms to be bonded for $80 million to participate. Four companies were selected to present to the selection committee, and CDI was chosen for their extensive experience managing projects of similar scale and complexity. Notable collaborations between CDI and Polk Stanley Wilcox include the U.S. Marshals Museum, Pinnacle Mountain Visitor Center, and Bank OZK Headquarters in Little Rock. Additionally, CDI’s work on the Benton Community Center showed their experience on a very similar project.

“CDI Contractors brings an exceptional portfolio of large-scale developments, and their partnership with Hart Construction provides local expertise to these projects,” Mayor Mat Faulkner said. “This is a significant milestone in bringing much-needed recreational facilities to our residents, and we’re confident in the team we’ve chosen to lead this project.”

As Construction Manager, CDI will work closely with Polk Stanley Wilcox to ensure quality and alignment with the city’s vision. Once the projects reach the construction phase, CDI and Hart will seek bids from subcontractors for different aspects of the projects.

“We are excited to partner with CDI Contractors on this major project for our community,” said Adam Hart, President of Hart Construction. “Their depth of experience and our shared dedication to the community make us an ideal team to manage these transformative projects for Searcy. We’re looking forward to delivering a result that Searcy can be proud of.”

These projects are currently in the design phase and construction is set to begin summer 2025.
